Billiard Business offers support for Epson and Star receipt printers. The cash drawer connects to the printer itself and is dependent on the printer for its operation. The printer setup is found in the Printer and Cash Drawer setup menu under the manager's menu.
Download and install the printer driver for the printer that will work with your operating system: e.g. Windows 98SE, Millennium, 2000, XP, etc. Star receipt printers should use the line mode printer found on their website: http://www.starmicronics.com. Previous versions of the software used the Generic Text printer driver that came with the operating system; but the current version works best with Star's new release of their line mode printer driver.
The user may also use a receipt printer that is compatible with an Epson or Star receipt printer. He doesn't have to purchase the brand name printer, if he doesn't desire.
Be sure to check the option that corresponds to your printer. Select the Star Option for Star and Star compatible printers. Select the Epson option for Epson and Epson compatible printers. The manager can also choose if he wants to require a password before the shift manager can open the cash drawer by checking the Require Password box in the lower left hand corner.
